Chaos

Kiyama Junior High School prepare for the Cultural Festival on Sunday the 24th. Let's clean the school, rearrange classrooms and hassle Danieru all day. Good job I had my camera...

The Four Stooges

The Japanese boys pose for photos as the girls giggle manically and dance away down the corridors. The school today becomes a blank canvas of energetic-photogenic desperation. The lens tells no lies

Mosquito Love

I wasn't going to let this little mother fucker get as far as the after dinner mints, let me tell you...

Moving...

The city awaits us. I ain't got wheels, but plan to buy some of those amazing looking roller shoes soon. Anyone know where I can buy some size 10.5s? The city streets are craving some Roller-Dan

Lube Now...

What? Right here? On this busy street? O.K.

Multiple Realities

For just 100 Yen (about 50 English Pence) you and 8 friends can cram yourselves into a photo booth and rithe like the sick puppies that you all secretly crave to be. Now where shall I stick these tiny things...

Kiyama Cultural Festival

Kids practise for weeks so they can spend an entire Sunday (yes, a weekend day) impressing the school governers. These guys rocked my Kirate coloured world

Strange composition

Lovely voices kids...

Teachers

They tried to get me to sing, in Japanese, but I managed to weasel out of it. "Next year when my Japanese is better..." I said [with no irony]

Dinner time

Onnaka suitea. Oishii so! Genki desu ne. Hai, genki desu. Totemo oishii desu...... CHEEESEU!

Boys

Japanese boys seem to love touching each other. Don't yet know the significance of this

Let's go crazy!!!

Every kid in school had a chance to sing today. They did a great job. Throughout the day I watched in amazement as 3 girls fainted and were carried out of the hall on stretchers. One girl hyperventilated before and after her piano piece, breathing into her hand towel with vigure. One of the fainting girls came back to sing. You can see her being propped up by a teacher on the front row. And yes, the stretcher came back out too...

Kill me

The head teacher of Kiyama looks like he's about to die of boredom most of the time. Today he excelled himself by sharing some of his inner boredom with the rest of the school and with me and the parents and governers and guests from all over. Proof, if ever there was need for it, that God does not exist

Trimming my pockets

1000 Yen for a haircut? 'Yes please' I cry as I slow the car to a screeching halt and dash through the yellowy tinged doorway. I receive the said cut, more than adequate, and reiterate the joy to myself as a loyalty card is thrust into my hand on leaving. Sugoii! True customer service. They really know how to treat a....... Wait a minute... I get one free haircut for every 19 I pay for!? Is that theoretically possible? The card has space for 40 haircuts, a task for which my life is now completely resigned towards completing. 40 haircuts from now should keep me trimmed well into the next decade

Kamimashkigun 29th Recitation Contest

Lets spend 2 months endlessly repeating the same 4 pages of the text book over and over again in a feeble attempt to get the students to pronounce L, R, TH, F and V properly, then we'll shove them on a stage with all the other schools in the area and watch them battle to the death. As the picture suggests, it really was a fascinating day.

Contest lost for another year we waited for our taxis outside the event. It's sure good to know that American culture has already ensnared the hearts (and pockets) of the youngest Japanese generation...

Halloween LABO Party!

Yuko looks dashing as a scary witch. I'm also sure that if prompted she'd do a great cackle

The night of the young dead

They look so cute dressed as hideous beasts, fictional characters and strange half animal entities. How I longed to be young again, carrier bag of tooth rotting goodies in one hand, carrier bag of rotten eggs in the other - "Trick or treat?"

Tsumori Elementary School

ROCK ON! Let the halloween crazy costumes and strange performances commence! I was attacked today several times by crazed 7 year old with a thirst for Gaijin blood. Those little fangs sinking into warm, supple flesh

Playboy

Chatting up Japanese women is our favourite pastime. These Nagasaki beauties were hard to crack, but we suceeded in the end

Halloween Party

I am Pegasus, ruler of the skies. The horse of mythical resonance, of beauty and majestic wonder. See me fly!

Awakening

It suddenly dawned on us that little red riding hood and santa were getting a little too close for comfort. Later they made love under the stars of the Nagasaki sky...

It's all a blur

Together we proudly strolled through Lynsey's halloween birthday party. The night was young. Lynsey was a year older. How time tricks us

?

Fashionable-chinese-santa-Dr.Evil-horse moment

Up on the roof

Later on that night I awoke only to try and climb down off the roof on the wrong side.

14 foot drop below me, beautiful night sky above. I survived thanks only to the daring rescue attempt made by little red riding hood and santa clause. I thank them, and so should you...
