Absorboration is the cultural equivalent of osmosis: The diffusion of memes through semipermeable human-brains from states of low data concentration to regions of high data concentration, resulting in a potential difference across the human culture which drives the diffusion. That is, the meme flows from the side of the culture where the potential is weakest to the side where it is strongest, until the culture on both sides is the same strength (that is, until the cultural potential is equal on both sides).
