Japanese Warning signs

→ by Danieru
Juergen Specht has a great feature about Japanese warning signs on his site.

"Japanese warning signs are very different than warning signs in other parts of the world, because they usually contain a visual and easy to understand reason why something is dangerous or not allowed."

Take a gander at how to avert danger in Japan...

If I hear another English speaker use the "(insert any word here) ok?" English-for-those-believed-to-be handicapped-or-otherwise-impaired-form when talking to a Japanese person, I will scream. "Hamburger ok?" WTF? Speaking in incomlete, incoherent sentences to someone who doesn't speak English doesn't make one understood, and makes one look like and sound like an idiot. Meaning ok? Know what I'm getting at, yo?

That post was merely inspired by "Dog OK." Why does Japan really not give a ____ about getting English right? It was funny at first, and now I just find it annoying. Annoying rant #2.
